SeudaFinder was developed to address a critical need in the Kemp Mill Jewish community. Our program provides eager hosts with the opportunity to share their Shabbat and Yom Tov tables with individuals who are seeking comfort and hospitality. SeudaFinder is intended to bring host and guest together for a wonderful and meaningful experience.

SeudaFinder helps facilitate the mitzvah of hachnasat orchim in the Kemp Mill community. It allows prospective hosts and their guests to find each other in a secure and confidential way via the web.

G-d willing, SeudaFinder will address a need long unmet in our community. It has become evident over the years that there are a significant number of individuals who would so appreciate inclusion in others' Shabbat and Yom Tov meals but who are lacking invitations. At the same time, many of us have felt the frustration of wishing to invite Shabbat or Yom Tov guests without knowing how to identify or contact individuals who are in need of hospitality. While it is enjoyable to invite close friends and family to our Shabbat table, it is especially rewarding to invite people who might otherwise eat alone on Shabbat or people who are new to religious observance and are searching for a warm, meaningful Shabbat experience. It is our hope that SeudaFinder will provide a vital service in our community by creating "shidduchim" between Guests and Hosts to enhance the Shabbat experience for all involved.
