Yad Yehuda of Greater Washington is a volunteer organization that serves as the Jewish community's financial safety net serving hundreds of individuals from every Jewish neighborhood in the Greater Washington area every year. ​By providing programs such as Tomchei Shabbos, the Capital Kosher Pantry, and emergency assistance, Yad Yehuda helps ease some of the financial strain on our friends and neighbors.

Through the Capital Kosher Pantry, we help hundreds of fellow community members, throughout ​Greater Washington, feed their families with ​pride and dignity.

​TOMCHEI SHABBOS

The Tomchei Shabbos program was designed to assist local families and individuals in financial distress purchase much needed food for Shabbat and Yom Tov.

​It is likely that everyone living in any one of the Greater Washington Jewish communities, has knowingly or unknowingly been touched by a friend, family member or neighbor that has benefited from Yad Yehuda. ​ChesedGuide.org is a joint project of Yad Yehuda of Greater Washington and Agudath Israel of Maryland. Its goal is to provide a nationwide resource guide for all things chesed.

​NISMACH MARYLAND

Nismach is a support group that has become a lifeline to many Orthodox Jewish women who lost their husbands. Staffed completely by volunteer within the group.
